This book is one of the very helpful series "Translated Texts for Historians," published by Liverpool University Press. You can also think of yourself as a master plumber. Rules like: You must go to church on Sunday(one of the big Ten), You must not get divorced, you are not allowed to have sex with people of the same sex, you must not abort children etc. As a feminist, I found this book enormously patronizing. She strives to follow her dream even after a few setbacks. Levitt's novels, the characters are memorably drawn, convincingly motivated, and inextricably intertwined.. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to meditate in a creative way. Giddins cites Dvoretsky, Marin, Smyslov and Levenfish, and other analysts but his emphasis is on narration, on ideas and plans. Pretty much does what it says on the cover. Did not expect the plot to go the way it did,as I'm trying to keep up w/new & old characters and different scenes, I realized I never knew the author even though we were co-workers years backLOLWOW what an imagination. Excellent book. These thoughts and principles are universal and apply as much to a Fortune 500 CEO as a Company Commander in Combat.. The book is worth reading..
