It is written in almost a novel format and whilst this does much to enrich the individual chapters I did feel that this style did mean that some of the warmth of the principal characters was lost.In this sense it fell short of other books in the genre, notably Chris Stewart's Driving over lemons. Rules like: You must go to church on Sunday(one of the big Ten), You must not get divorced, you are not allowed to have sex with people of the same sex, you must not abort children etc. I purchased this book for an advanced speech class bought I thought it was a great read. Ordering two more for gifts. Treasure provides ample detail on the effect of sound in a retail environment. It just goes to prove that smart and determined persons can do some pretty dumb things! And on top of that, this book is not at all objective. For example, I learned I am an Outsider.
